What happens on our first meeting?
At our initial meeting we will discuss what you would like to get from counselling and, if you wish to proceed, we will make a formal agreement to work together which will cover costs and the planned number of sessions. We can also discuss walk and talk therapy at this initial session either virtually or locally.
How often can I see you?
Sessions are weekly at a mutually agreed time, and last for 50 minutes.
How much does it cost?
It currently costs £40 per session. However, we do offer a limited number of reduced-fee sessions for those unable to pay the full rate.
Our aim is to make counselling as accessible as possible for everyone.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies from person to person and is tailored to your individual needs. We will negotiate a first set of sessions, usually six to eight, and see how things go. Together, we will negotiate more sessions if you feel you need them.
Do you give me advice?
No. Counselling is about exploring together to find the best way forward for you.
Is counselling just for people with a major life crisis?
No. We believe that counselling can be of benefit to everybody.
