Welcome to Guiding Lights Counselling and Supervision, which is based in South Molton, North Devon. I work with adults and young people over 10, offering online and face to face counselling, as well as walk and talk/nature therapy. I am a person-centred counsellor which means I start with you as a unique person, respecting difference and diversity. I specialise in relationships, loss, anxiety and low mood. Whether you are going through a difficult time, or just looking for a fresh perspective, I am here to listen.
I am also a relational supervisor for counsellors of adults and CYP. Please visit the supervision page for more information.

My name is Caroline and I have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and am  a specialist counsellor for children and young people as well as adults. I am also trained as a grief counsellor for people of all ages. I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society, and attend regular training to update my knowledge and skills.
I have a particular interest in how people relate to one another, for example in a family, couple, or friendship, and what happens when relationships break down or change in some way.
My counselling style can be tailored to your unique way of thinking and I have experience of working with neurodiversity.

I provide a confidential, professional, safe space where we can explore the issues that are concerning you. I know it can be hard to decide on counselling. You might be here because you feel something’s not right or you might know exactly what you want to work on. Either way counselling can help.
Counselling offers a unique opportunity for you to explore, discover and understand yourself better.  Becoming more aware of thoughts and feelings can really empower you to consider ways of responding to them. I firmly believe it is essential to build a strong relationship between counsellor and client.  As a result, I make it a priority to build a positive and supportive therapeutic relationship so that you can share and explore whatever you need to.
No matter what issues you bring, I will always offer you my full attention and respect. I won't tell you what to do, but I will help you to discover what is underneath what is happening to you for yourself. I won’t tell you how to 'change', or to 'fix' your problems for you, but I can work alongside you in order to support you in finding your own answers. My experience is that after only a handful of sessions you can start to see positive changes (sometimes small changes but sometimes much bigger ones).
