My name is Caroline and I have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and am a specialist grief counsellor at Cruse which is a charity that supports the bereaved. I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society, and attend regular training to update my knowledge and skills. I have also completed my advanced specialist training in counselling children and young people and currently work for Teens in Crisis Plus.
I have a particular interest in how people relate to one another, how we form attachments and what happens when those break down or change in some way. This could be through, for example, bereavement, or separation, or because children are growing up . |
I provide a confidential, professional, safe space where we can explore the issues that are concerning you. I know it can be hard to decide on counselling. You might be here because you feel something’s not right or you might know exactly what you want to work on. Either way counselling can help.
Counselling offers a unique opportunity for you to explore, discover and understand yourself better. Becoming more aware of thoughts and feelings can really empower you to consider ways of responding to them. I firmly believe it is essential to build a strong relationship between counsellor and client. As a result, I make it a priority to build a positive and supportive therapeutic relationship so that you can share and explore whatever you need to. No matter what issues you bring, I will always offer you my full attention and respect. I won't tell you what to do, but I will help you to discover what is underneath what is happening to you for yourself. I won’t tell you how to 'change', or to 'fix' your problems for you, but I can work alongside you in order to support you in finding your own answers. My experience is that after only a handful of sessions you can start to see positive changes (sometimes small changes but sometimes much bigger ones). |
